About Mèsan

Mèsan derives its name from the Yoruba word for "nine," reflecting the heritage of our creator and designer, Damola Sulaiman, who was born in Nigeria. September, the ninth month and her birth month, holds special meaning:

"The number nine represents my commitment to staying true to myself and using my natural gifts to help people show up as their most authentic selves." – Damola Sulaiman

The love of textiles and fashion runs deep in Damola's family. Passed down from her grandmother to her mother, this passion was woven into her childhood as she watched her mother run a successful textile import business in Nigeria. Inspired by this legacy, Damola began hand-sewing at the age of 7. When the time was right, Mèsan was born.

At Mèsan, our mission is to bring diversity to the sustainable fashion industry by crafting high-quality clothing and accessories that inspire confidence and play. Guided by the principles of slow fashion, we focus on small-batch production and prioritize eco-friendly materials to create pieces that are as thoughtful as they are stylish.
